SERBIA CHANGES BROADCAST ACT FOR THE THIRD TIME

Serbian Broadcast Act has already been amended twice in haste, without the public discussion and consent of the broadcasting community. SEENAPB strongly opposes such practice and warns that it raises serious doubt in good intentions of the law-makers, especially as Serbian Ministry of Culture did not approve of the amendments. SEENAPB believes that the broadcast field in Serbia has to be regulated by objectively taking into consideration all parameters, decisions and regulations, based on consultations with broadcasters and wide public. Therefore, SEENAPB supports the efforts of its member, ANEM, to secure sound conditions for work of electronic media in Serbia, harmonize media legislation with that of the international community, with consideration for the voice of the involved stakeholders and media organizations, as well as general public.
