BOOM 93 REJECTS MINISTER STOJKOVIC’S ACCUSATIONS AS UNARGUMENTED

Radio BOOM-93 is well-known for its credibility, objectivity and independence, especially regarding politicians and sensitive issues of importance for citizens of Pozarevac, since two large prisons are in vicinity of the town. BOOM 93 will protect freedom of speech, the same freedom that it had been fighting for 15 years, by adhering to the high professional standards, codes and legal acts that regulate media. BOOM 93 will not tolerate such slanderous attacks. During Milosevic, Radio BOOM 93 was banned several times and spent the total of 25 months out of ether. We believed that the times when media was accused without arguments just because politicians disliked their editorial policy or program were long gone. Minister should not deceive the public or make a list of biassed, unobjective, ideollogically correct or incorrect media. He should not make promises, but do his job responsibly. It is more important for citizens of Pozarevac to know what is happening in largest prison in Serbia located only 3 kilometers from the town, and Minister and authorities should make this information available. Milorad Tadic Director and editor-in-chief Pozarevac, November 22, 2006.
