Four selected members of the REM Council have resigned.
The appointed members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media Rodoljub Šabić, Mileva Malešić, Ira Prodanov Krajišnik, and Dubravka Valić Nedeljković have officially submitted their resignations.

Today at noon, the deadline set by four elected independent members of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media Council for the National Assembly of Serbia to repeat the voting and conduct an election between the two legally established candidates for the National Minority Council expired, or else they would resign from their membership.
Since this did not happen, they claim that the authorities do not want the REM to be independent, and therefore they submitted their resignations.
"When it came to the Assembly, there was an attempted theft in one of the categories. Suddenly, nine additional representatives of the councils who had not participated were included in the decision-making process; this is an attempt at usurpation. The authorities realized that this was unacceptable and backed down. Two candidates were established. At the last moment, Elvira Kovač appeared and did something that is prohibited by law; she openly called coalition partners not to vote. At that point, we said, 'Don't do this, you will compromise the process,'" said lawyer Rodoljub Šabić.
He emphasized that there is no need for the Assembly to consider their resignations.
"Every National Council had the right to nominate its candidate. Only three councils exercised that right, while the others did not. When the situation arose that positions needed to be harmonized, the authorities realized that their candidate would be outvoted, and then they included nine others. They included councils that had not participated. Of course, I have evidence; just look at the Assembly. When they realized they would be outvoted, they suddenly remembered some coordination. I have been constantly asking for the law to be applied," he added.
He stated that he did not resign due to pressure, but because they sought to respect the law, and the authorities, as he said, "brought candidates from the street."
