The EU regrets that Serbia still lacks a functional Regulatory Authority.
The European Union (EU) regrets to note that Serbia still lacks a functional Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM), following the resignations of members who pointed out irregularities in the electoral process, it was announced today on the official account of the EU Delegation in Serbia on the social media platform X.

“We emphasize the importance of a functional REM Council for media reforms,” the statement reads, adding that the Council should be established in a transparent and inclusive manner, in accordance with the legal framework and as defined in the reform agenda.
It is highlighted that the EU will continue to support Serbia on its path to the EU, including the ongoing implementation of key reforms aimed at strengthening the rule of law, media freedoms, and the electoral framework.
The importance of renewing dialogue among all actors across the political spectrum and society is reiterated.
