Anatomy of the Suffocation of Media Freedom in Bečej: Between Silence and Verbal Mud
At 11:52 AM on November 22, 2024 – exactly at the time when the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station killed 15 people three weeks earlier – a small number of citizens from Bečej gathered in the city center for the first "Stop, Serbia" rally. The silence of mourning under the cold November rain was abruptly interrupted by noise and insults from a group arriving from the direction of the Serbian Progressive Party offices.
