ANEM ALARM: Authorities must urgently identify individuals threatening with bombs in the newsrooms.

This type of intimidation against anyone is unacceptable in a civilized society. Threats, attacks, and any form of intimidation against members of the editorial team must not be tolerated, regardless of how well these editorial teams adhere to professional and ethical standards. All perpetrators must be brought to justice, as impunity for such acts sends a negative message that anyone can threaten the safety of media representatives without consequences.

It is the duty of the police and relevant authorities to protect all citizens of this society, and any delay in resolving these cases indicates an unwillingness or inability of institutions to confront their professional responsibilities.

We call on the authorities to resolve all other cases of threats to journalists’ safety as soon as possible, as these have reached a record number in recent years, and nearly all of them remain unresolved.
