ANEM ALARM: New threat following the announcement that the previous threat has been reported.

The account lesicslobodan has been reported, from which dozens of threats have been directed at female and male journalists over the past few months.

Today, the media published an ANEM ALARM with information that this threat has been reported to the Special Prosecutor's Office for High-Tech Crime of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

Immediately after the publication of this information, the user of the account lesicslobodan issued a new threat to Marko Vidojković and Nenad Kulačin, again via the Instagram account of the portal Nova.rs:

“I will kill *the sheep, I f*** their satanic mother. Traitors and Ustaše, die you scum.”

This threat was also promptly reported to the competent prosecutor's office, with the following note:

“We notice that your prosecutor's office and police are very efficient when it comes to threats against ministers, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and prosecutors. In 111 open cases related to threats against female and male journalists, formed in your prosecutor's office over the past year and a half, only one case has resulted in a final court decision.

We ask you to apply the same standards regarding threats to journalists as you do in cases of threats to representatives of the executive power and the judiciary.”

In the past week, two threats – one directed at the Minister of Justice and the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, and the other at the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Chief Editor of Informer, Dragan J. Vučićević – have resulted in the identification and arrest of the suspects in record time.

In contrast, in cases of threats against female and male journalists, the efficiency of the police and prosecutor's office over the past year and a half has been virtually non-existent.

We expect the competent authorities to consistently fulfill their legal obligations, as well as the commitments they have undertaken in the Memorandum of Cooperation and Measures for the Improvement of Journalist Safety.
