ANEM ALARM: Threats of hanging against journalist Srđan Nonić

In response to the question "Who are you, hero? Introduce yourself. Are you going to hang me?", the reply came, "Let's get to know each other? Come on, hero. Stinky, respond." Following this, there was also a call with similar insults and disturbing messages.

These threats and disturbing messages have been reported to the police, and during the day, Nonić will give a statement to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Niš.

“In addition to the threat of hanging, the communication also includes a promise of physical confrontation, especially the fact that the person making the threats knows the address where the journalist lives with his family and, according to his own claim, he lives in the immediate neighborhood. We call on the prosecutor's office to take urgent action so that the police can identify the person who threatened Nonić and sanction the criminal act of endangering the safety of journalists,” stated Veran Matić, president of the Management Board of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), member of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists and operator of the Safe Line for reporting threats and attacks on journalists 0800 100 115.
