ANEM ALARM: Disturbing violent threats against the editorial team of the weekly magazine Radar and cartoonist Dušan Petričić.

“YOU ARE USTASHI SCUM, TRAITOROUS GARBAGE... WHEN 300,000 SERBIAN NATIONALIST HOARDS COME... WE WILL START WITH YOU GARBAGE, AND ESPECIALLY WITH THIS FECAL CREEP DUSAN PETRICIC WHO WILL KILL SERBIAN PATRIOTS THROUGHOUT SERBIA... WE WILL ERADICATE YOU FOREVER...”

This threat was sent by L.I. from an email address already known to the Radar editorial team.

In addition to this threat, several menacing and disturbing messages were received by the editorial team in the comments section of the portal from a certain Prle, who threatens to execute Dušan Petričić, burn all those in the editorial team, and those who support them:

“And why won’t this scoundrel be executed? Some are tried and banned from working because they say that a Ustash scoundrel is a blocker, and he himself claims that, while such a criminal is free. He is a free journalist. He should be shot, and those who support him should be burned. Now that would be democracy. I f*** your Ustash.”

In a second message, a scenario similar to the attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo is threatened—an act in which terrorists killed ten employees of that editorial office and two police officers, injuring 11 others:

“Let me remind you that Charlie Hebdo also made such caricatures, don’t complain later when their fate catches up with them.”

And in a third threat, violence is announced: “We will meet in Zemun. I will show you how I turn a man into a caricature.”

In addition to threats to the Radar editorial team, a threat was sent to Marko Vidojković and Nenad Kulačin on his Facebook page from the account B.L., a private page with photographs that could be used to identify him, with the message: “You should only have your head taken off, mrs.”

ANEM calls on the prosecutor's office and the police to urgently identify and find those who threaten and intimidate journalists, cartoonists, and writers, and to protect the editorial team and employees of this weekly in the meantime.

“These alarming and disturbing threats have unfortunately become commonplace when it comes to female and male journalists. The inefficiency of the police and prosecutor's office, and the impunity of perpetrators clearly encourages the daily increase in the endangerment of the safety of female and male journalists. It is a disheartening fact for executive authorities and the judiciary that of the 45 cases of online threats opened in 2025, there has not been a single conviction. It is only a matter of time before a much more serious endangerment of the lives of female and male journalists occurs, which we must prevent at all costs,” stated Veran Matić, President of the ANEM Management Board and member of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists, who reported the aforementioned cases to the relevant prosecutor's office.
