Two workers from JKP "Naisus" have been found guilty of assaulting N1 correspondent Milan Stojanović.

To remind you, Milan Stojanović was attacked on February 21, 2022, by two employees of the Public Utility Company "Naisus" while he was filming the excavation of Njegoševa Street, where water was "gushing" from the road.

As he recounted at that time, he was about 50 meters away from the intersection where workers were excavating the street without any barriers or warning signs. At that moment, a man who had previously exited a truck from the Niš Public Utility Company "Naisus" began to approach Stojanović menacingly, shouting for him not to film. Although the N1 correspondent informed them that he was a journalist and was documenting the work, the workers approached him in a group, invading his personal space, and attempted to drive him away from his assignment.

At that time, Milan Stojanović called the police, who insisted that he clarify whether he had been threatened or not.

"This was a classic example of an intimidation attempt. They did not make death threats, but how else to describe it when five adult men surround you, invade your personal space, yell, and attack? It is unacceptable behavior from people who should have an increased level of responsibility because we are, in fact, their employers. They work in a public enterprise, not to mention that no one should behave this way on the street," stated the N1 reporter at that time.

The workers from JKP "Naisus," Ivan Cvetanović from the village of Malošište and Predrag Zdravković from the village of Resinac, in the municipality of Prokuplje, were found guilty of the criminal offense of preventing the printing and distribution of printed materials and broadcasting programs.

The convicted workers have the right to appeal within eight days.

The court has directed Milan Stojanović to initiate civil proceedings to assert his property rights.
