Initiative "Our pRoTeSt": Termination of cooperation due to a letter to the management of RTS.
The employees' initiative at Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) "Our Protest" publicly addressed the management of the public service today to express their concerns and simultaneously called for dialogue regarding the recent decisions to terminate cooperation with long-standing collaborators in production, as well as the termination of the employment relationship with Aleksandra Vidačić.
They add that they understand that there was a disciplinary violation in the case of their colleague Aleksandra, but they believe that termination as a measure is not proportional to the situation and the circumstances surrounding it.
"They also express concern regarding the non-renewal of contracts for our long-time freelance collaborators who have contributed to the work of RTS for years and have not made any errors in their work. The reason for the termination of the collaboration is their decision to sign a letter addressed to the management that in no way calls into question their loyalty and commitment to working at RTS," the statement reads.
They have called on the management of RTS to consider mitigating the penalties/decisions for both Aleksandra and their colleague collaborators, "who have, through their work, professionalism, and dedication, contributed to the reputation of RTS for years, and that this letter with all our signatures carries weight in making positive decisions for the benefit of the entire RTS."
