The Radar account on Instagram has been permanently disabled, and the editorial accounts of Nova have been temporarily suspended.

The Instagram accounts nova.rs_portal, nova.rs_showbiz, and nova.rs_sport, as well as the private account of the page administrator, received a notification today that the account has been suspended for 180 days due to violations of community guidelines, and immediate actions must be taken to avoid permanently losing the account.

The editorial team at Nova.rs has promptly filed an appeal with Instagram.

However, the Instagram account of the Radar portal has been permanently disabled, and the private account of the administrator associated with that profile has been suspended. The editorial team at Radar has contacted support at Meta.

The Nova.rs accounts had already come under fire in early January.

As reported at that time, the Instagram account was subjected to a bot attack via fake profiles, which was reflected in a sudden and unusual increase in the number of followers within a very short period.

In just a few hours, the number of followers on the official Nova.rs Instagram account jumped from 204,000 to over 244,000, indicating a clear sign of artificial and unnatural growth, and within a few days, it fell by nearly 30,000.

Artificial and uncontrolled growth and decline in the number of followers pose a serious security risk for any social media account. Such activities can lead the platform to mark the account as suspicious, limit its visibility, or ultimately disable it permanently, regardless of whether the account itself initiated or encouraged such growth.

Also Targeted: CRTA, OsnaŽene, PUF…

Today, several other profiles on Instagram have also come under attack.

One of them is the account of CRTA, which commented on this matter on platform X (formerly Twitter).

Additionally, the Instagram accounts of Osnažene and the profile of Gavrilo Andrić have been suspended.

The movement Promene u fokusu - PUF also announced that their Instagram account has been taken down.

“On Friday, January 16, 2026, in the evening hours, the Instagram account ‘pufsrbija,’ which is the official account of the movement Promene u fokusu - PUF, was taken down,” they stated.

They emphasize that this is happening for the second time in the last month, and the motive for this action is clear.

“Through this channel, our movement, as well as our parliamentary group, have conveyed the truth to a million-strong audience in Serbia and beyond. This is a clear indication that the regime in Serbia is disturbed by any source of free speech and thought and will stop at nothing to extinguish it,” reads the statement from PUF.
