NUNS: We condemn the threats directed at Dragan Karalazić, and we urge institutions to respond urgently.

On the Facebook page of the editorial office, under the text "Twilight Zone in Little Paris," authored by Karalazić, a user named Siniša Kolundžić left a message containing offensive and threatening content, stating among other things to the journalist: "What do you need a knife for?"

NUNS will report these threats to the relevant authorities and calls on the prosecutor's office and the police to react urgently and take all legally prescribed measures.

We remind you that the editorial office of “Podrinske” has previously been a target of intimidation - ranging from public campaigns to physical threats. We particularly highlight the case from 2021, when wanted posters bearing the name and photograph of journalist Isidora Kovačević were plastered around the city. The trial for that case lasted just over a year, while the entire process, including the investigation, took three years, resulting in one perpetrator being sentenced to two years in prison.

NUNS demands systematic and decisive protection for journalists and emphasizes that the safety of media workers is not only a professional issue but also a social question of the utmost importance.
