Known names of candidates for members of the REM Council
On the last day of the deadline for submitting proposals for candidates for members of the REM Council, some names that will be in the running are already known.

Nova.rs has published the proposed candidates submitted by authorized nominators to the relevant Committee for Culture and Information of the National Assembly of Serbia so far or will do so during the day.
The Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia will propose Đorđe Vlajić and Mileva Malešić as candidates for members of the REM Council, as confirmed to us by that association. On the other hand, the proposal from the Journalists' Association of Serbia will be Mileva Malešić, a journalist and editor at TV Forum.
The University of Belgrade has proposed mr Vanju Šibalić, an associate professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, and Irina Milutinović, a senior research associate at the Institute for European Studies.
The Serbian Orthodox Church and traditional churches and religious communities have submitted a unified proposal and have nominated Sanju Anđelković Lubardić, a long-time journalist and currently PR of the University of Belgrade, Snežana Miljković, who is the protocol chief and coordinator in the SPC, and a journalist-collaborator at TV Hram.
In addition to the SPC, the candidates have also been supported by the Archdiocese of Belgrade, the Islamic Community of Serbia, the Jewish Religious Community, and the Evangelical Christian Church.
The Protector of Citizens Zoran Pašalić and the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance Milan Marinović have nominated Stevica Smederevac and Žarko Simović for the positions of members of the REM Council.
Smederevac is the assistant director of REM for supervision and analysis, was the responsible editor of the Scientific Educational Program Editorial Office at TV Belgrade from 2010 to 2012, and was also a member of the Temporary Supervisory Body for Monitoring the Election Campaign from 2022 to 2023. From 1998 to 2000, he was the director of TV Novi Sad and the editor of that television's News Program.
Žarko Simović graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, and as noted in his biography, he was employed at RTNS and RTS as a journalist during the 1990s. He currently works as a project analyst at REM.
The Center for Social Preventive Activities GRIG, an organization founded in 1998 for the protection of children, has proposed dr Dušan Aleksić, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš, and Dubravka Valić Nedeljković, a retired professor from the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad.
The National Council of the Hungarian National Minority proposes Ištvan Bodžoni, a candidate supported by the majority of national councils of national minorities in Serbia. Bodžoni graduated from the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad and is currently a retiree. His biography states that he was the director of TV Panon from 2011 until January 2025.
The Bosniak National Council has proposed Muhedin Fijuljanin as a member of the REM Council, who noted in his biography that he has over 30 years of journalistic work and experience.
Cenzolovka has reported that Fijuljanin is a former president of the Municipal Assembly of Sjenica, a member of the Executive Board of the Bosniak National Council, the director and editor of Bosniak TV Novi Pazar, and the founder of the magazine Bosniak Word. He was also the editor of Sandžak News.
The Republican Alliance of Associations of the Diaspora, Serbs in the Region, and Friends of Serbia, by the decision of the Association Koreni, has proposed Bratislav Blagojević for a member of the REM Council.
His biography states that in the last ten years he has been a professor in the field of information and communication technologies at the Higher Technical School in Kruševac and Novi Sad at Alfa University, where he was also a dean for a period. He completed both his master's and doctoral studies at that university.
The competition for the new composition of the REM Council was announced after students blocked RTS facilities in Belgrade for two weeks in April, demanding that the old competition be annulled and a new one announced.
