Saša Mirković on the REM Council: Either we all work together or we’re wasting our efforts.
At least six independent and professional (out of a total of nine) members of the REM Council could bring hope that something fundamentally will change regarding the justifiably criticized regulatory body, stated media consultant Saša Mirković.

He wrote in an authorial piece for the weekly magazine Vreme that such a goal is only achievable through the synergy of key actors involved in the initiated process: students, authorized proposers, candidates, representatives, non-governmental organizations, and opposition members of parliament.
"The right question and, at the same time, the greatest dilemma is whether such synergy is possible and realistic in the context of the heated debate resulting from the student demand for the dissolution of parliament and the calling of elections that followed the announcement of the Public Call for the election of members of the REM Council," Mirković assessed.
According to him, the mentioned synergy could be crucial in the upcoming phases of this demanding process – during the nomination of candidates, at the sessions of the Culture and Information Committee, during the alignment of authorized proposers, at the public hearing, and finally – during the voting in the Assembly when each candidate in nine categories must receive at least 126 votes of support.
"Otherwise, we face a new electoral process…," Mirković emphasized.
