The meeting of the Assembly Committee for Culture and Information, during which proposals for candidates for members of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) Council will be discussed, will be held on Friday, May 30th.

The session will be held at the House of the National Assembly at 2:00 PM, as announced on the National Assembly's website.

The public call for nominating candidates for the election of members of the REM Council was published on May 8 and concluded on May 25.

The Committee for Culture and Information of the National Assembly of Serbia made a decision on April 28 to initiate a new procedure for proposing candidates for the election of members of the REM Council, after previously invalidating the decision regarding the prior procedure from November 25.

The announcement of a new competition for members of the REM Council was requested by opposition deputies, members of the Committee for Culture and Information, as well as students in protest who blocked RTS from April 14 to April 28.

The REM Council consists of nine members elected by the National Assembly upon the proposal of authorized nominators.
