UNS: Members of the Committee for Culture and Information should decide on the candidates for the REM Council fairly and impartially.

The Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) calls on the members of the Committee for Culture and Information of the National Assembly of Serbia to make fair and impartial decisions regarding the proposed candidates for members of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) at tomorrow's session, strictly adhering to the Law on Electronic Media.

UNS calls on the members of the Committee to set aside party and ideological differences when deciding on the eligibility of the proposed candidates, and to make decisions about future members of the Council of this regulatory body while considering the clear provisions of the Law on Electronic Media regarding the conditions that proposers and candidates must meet.

UNS emphasizes that the formation of the REM Council, and strictly in accordance with the law, is crucial for the regulation of electronic media and the public interest.
