UNS: The police should not interfere with journalists doing their job.

Nikola Doderović told UNS that he was accompanied by a student from the Department of Communication and Journalism when they were stopped by six or seven members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in King Milan Square.

"They asked us for our personal identification and press credentials, and then took us in for questioning. They were cooperative, asking us what we were doing and why we came to film. We were held for questioning for more than an hour and a half, which was unnecessary," Doderović emphasizes.

As a reason for the detention, Doderović states that they cited grounds for suspicion.

"We did not disrupt public order or peace; we did not disturb anyone, we were just filming the event. We had press vests," he explains.

UNS calls on the police not to hinder journalists in their work. On the contrary, when someone attacks or obstructs journalists while they are performing their duties, it is necessary to provide them with protection.
