"Soon you will be burned": Horrific threats directed at the N1 editorial office.
The N1 editorial team has received a large number of heinous and brutal threats in recent days.

The editorial team of N1 announced that it has once again come under attack from the authorities in recent days. The assault came directly from Andrićev Venac by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who yesterday from Seville referred to what the N1 editorial team does as "terrorism." .
"This is not just an unfounded and dangerous slander, but a signal that behind these incendiary statements there may be a much darker intention – an attempt to silence N1 forever," N1 stated.
In his second address to Serbian media from Spain, the President used the opportunity to attack N1.
Meanwhile, in the comments section on their portal, very serious threats and insults have been sent. Here are just some of them:
- You all should be killed, your fascist mother.
- You will hang someday at Terazije.
- N1, you will pay for this indirect call for a civil war. Trust me, sooner or later. Then we will laugh at you as you laugh at the naive people of Serbia.
- All in line for execution, you cursed Serb-haters.
- Ustaški N1, you should be banned, you poison the people. Police, crush that vermin; you have the true support of the people. Long live Vučić.
- You will soon be burned.
With such comments and threats, the N1 editorial team faces daily challenges, as they indicate.
The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) previously called on the relevant institutions to prevent the spread of false and disturbing news and to prosecute all those who spread false information that journalists and editors of N1 and Nova S TV are terrorists.
The SafeJournalists network has strongly condemned the brutal threats directed at the N1 television editorial team, as well as the public accusation from the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who labeled the reporting of N1 and Nova S as “pure terrorism.” This kind of rhetoric, they state, from the highest state officials represents a direct call for violence against journalists and an abuse of institutions, which has serious consequences for their safety.
"We remind you that N1 and Nova are among the few media outlets that report professionally on protests in Serbia, including actions of civil disobedience initiated by students. Their journalism is crucial for the public and the democratic order, and attacks on them represent an attack on media freedom and citizens' right to information. It is particularly unacceptable to call on the relevant public prosecutors to act based on false accusations made by the highest representatives of the government," the SafeJournalists statement reads.
The SafeJournalists network calls on President Vučić to stop targeting media and journalists, and as a holder of one of the highest positions in the state, to take responsibility for his statements and to cease inciting violence in society. They also call on the High-Tech Crime Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to urgently identify and prosecute those responsible for the threats directed at the N1 editorial team.
The SafeJournalists network consists of the Kosovo Journalists Association, the Macedonia Journalists Association, BH Journalists Association, the Croatian Journalists' Association, the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia, and the Media Union of Montenegro.
