Adopted proposals for amendments and supplements to two media laws.
The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Proposal for the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Public Media Services at today's session. The aim of these amendments is to improve the operation of public media services, ensure greater accountability to users, and stabilize funding.

These amendments and supplements are expected to contribute to strengthening the public interest in the field of information dissemination.
At the meeting, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Public Information was adopted, which anticipates the establishment of a unified system for monitoring the co-financing of media projects, thereby ensuring greater transparency in the use of public funds, as stated on the government website.
The adopted amendments and supplements, as noted, ensure better protection for journalists and the introduction of mechanisms to preserve their professional integrity, thereby supporting freedom and safety in media work.
Additionally, the work of self-regulatory bodies is being improved, which contributes to greater accountability of the media and respect for ethical standards, as stated in the announcement.
