Veran Matić: Hell is ahead of us.
On the day when the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) announced that the same owner had registered seven new portals, part of that network began coordinated attacks on Veran Matić, the President of the ANEM Board of Directors. Almost identical texts appeared on several newly established local portals, in which Matić is accused, among other things, of high treason.

Portals Serbia in the East, Glas Aranđelovca, Lučani Live, Palanačke Vesti, Stara Pazova Live, Nova Pazova Live, and Podunavlje Live have published two identical articles, with minimal differences in the titles.
The basis for the accusations is the documentary film "Evil Era 2," produced by the Center for Social Stability. With the publication of such news, the targeting of Matić has continued.
Pre-Electoral Campaign Template
Matić states to "Vreme" that this is a template that will be applied in the upcoming period.
"The distribution of parts of the film through a network of newly established and recently acquired portals represents an attempt to capture media space through targeting, incitement, and fabrication of lies, with the aim of exerting pressure on individuals and organizations that the government sees as a problem now and in the future," Matić assesses.
The repression against journalists and media today, he says, is greater than ever in the last 30 years.
"I believe that all of this is part of the upcoming electoral campaign. Hell is coming our way. It will get worse, regardless of the fact that many now think we have reached the peak. Journalists who report professionally will increasingly be attacked and endangered in this way – through the fabrication of fabrications and lies, and massive distribution that is supposed to prevent the possibility of reacting to those lies," says Matić.
Center of Power in Digital Space
In addition to the existing centers of media power in national television, tabloids, and print media, a new one is now being created – in digital space.
After taking over the majority of the television and print market, Matić says, the attempt to completely dominate the digital space through repression follows. He cites organized attacks by bots on the Instagram accounts of leading independent media as an example.
"On one hand, there is a move towards complete blackout of reliable news and information in Serbia, and on the other, a systematic inundation with lies, targeting, and accusations against those who think differently," warns Matić.
What was Broadcast in Evil Era 2
The film was aired during prime time on national frequency televisions B92 and Prva, as well as on the cable television Informer, and it directly targeted Veran Matić. The articles published on the newly formed portals contain claims about his alleged connections to George Soros, foreign embassies, and organizations like USAID, as well as "serious evidence" of involvement in the secession of Kosovo.
Informer also published the same claims, which rebroadcasted the film on Thursday, February 5. The film's production is credited to the non-governmental organization Center for Social Stability from Novi Sad.
Regarding the film's broadcast and distribution, journalistic and media associations, members of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists (SRG), assessed that they are "intimidated and disturbed," warning that such content publicly opens a "hunt" on the president of the ANEM Managing Board.
Portals with the Same Owner and Editor-in-Chief
The part of the portals that published attacks on Matić is part of a network of ten new internet media owned by the company Zaple Media Group from Novi Sad. The main and responsible editor of all the portals is Gradimir Banković, an associate of the Center for Social Stability.
Zaple Media Group was founded on December 11, 2025, and the first new local portals were launched as early as January. In recent years, Banković has appeared in the media as an analyst of social and political situations, presenting himself as an associate of the Center for Social Stability. However, on the Center's website, the "biography" field next to his name remains empty, unlike most other associates.
According to data available from the Agency for Business Registers, Zaple Media Group lists an apartment in Novi Sad as its address, with no telephone contact. The company does not appear in the available white pages, and the email address to which "Vreme" has sent inquiries on multiple occasions remains unanswered by the time this text was concluded.
The Center for Social Stability has so far produced several government propaganda films and organized anti-blockades.
