Žiofre welcomed the announcement of the call for proposals for candidates for the REM Council.
The Ambassador of the European Union in Serbia, Emanuel Žiofre, welcomed the announcement of a new call for the nomination of candidates for members of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM).

"We look forward to a transparent and inclusive process that will result in a credible, strong, and independent regulatory body for the benefit of a pluralistic environment for electronic media," wrote Ziofre in a post on social media platform X.
The Committee of the National Assembly of Serbia for Culture and Information announced earlier today in the newspaper Politika and on the parliament's website a Public Call for the nomination of candidates for the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM), which, as announced, will also be published during the day in the "Official Gazette."
The deadline for submitting candidate proposals for members of the REM Council is prescribed by the provisions of the Law on Electronic Media and will last for 15 days, starting the day after the Public Call is published in the "Official Gazette."
The REM Council has nine members elected by the National Assembly, at the proposal of authorized nominators, with three members elected for two years, three members for four years, and three members for six years.
