ANEM ALARM: The dangerous media campaign against Veran Matić continues.

To remind, in the film that aired on the aforementioned television channels last week, the President of the ANEM Board is dangerously targeted through the distortion of facts, placing him in a narrative and context that portrays Matić as a traitor to Serbia, a foreign mercenary, and an agent, along with accusations that he embezzled large sums of money, which indirectly calls for a lynching of Matić.

On the social network X, following the film's broadcast, several dangerous accusations are spreading that Matić finances Albanian media in Kosovo and has supported separatists. The same narrative is being disseminated through articles on newly established local portals, edited by Gradimir Banković, a collaborator of the Center for Social Stability – Palanačke vesti, Glas Aranđelovca, Stara Pazova uživo, Nova Pazova uživo, Srbija na istoku, Podunavlje uživo. These are portals that do not have the legally required Impressum published at all.

Moreover, Informer TV has announced new broadcasts of the film about Veran Matić, while the Center for Social Stability has stated in its press release that they are preparing new episodes about him.

It is evident that this is a simultaneous and organized campaign aimed at undermining the reputation of Veran Matić, as well as jeopardizing his safety.

ANEM calls on the highest state officials to publicly condemn such dangerous media campaigns and urges the relevant authorities, primarily the Prosecutor's Office for High-Tech Crime, to take action to stop the endangerment of safety, hate speech, and the persecution of Veran Matić and other journalists mentioned in this piece.

To remind, the work of the Center for Social Stability has been condemned by journalistic and media associations that are members of the SRG, as well as the OSCE Mission in Serbia in its observer status in the SRG, numerous journalists and media, the international organization Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the Commissioner for Equality Milan Antonijević, and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Jan Bratu.
