ANEM conducted a safety training session for the teaching staff at the Faculty of Sports in Belgrade.
The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) organized a one-day free training on journalist safety for university faculty at the Faculty of Sports of the "Union - Nikola Tesla" University in Belgrade. This training was primarily aimed at representatives of the Department of Sports Journalism, but professors from other departments also attended.

The aim of the training conducted by experienced journalist and trainer Branko Čečen is to systematize fundamental knowledge related to the safety of (future) journalists and media workers, covering legal aspects, institutional practices, and case studies in this field, as well as to initiate the development of a curriculum for a potential new course in journalism studies that would address these increasingly essential issues.
The one-day training aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences and expand knowledge that would assist faculty in educating future graduates in journalism.
This type of workshop highlights the potential dangers from the cyber realm and in the field, during reporting from demonstrations, unpredictable and dramatic events, natural disasters, and emergencies that media representatives face daily.
One of the desired outcomes of this training is to define internal procedures at media studies faculties that would facilitate coordination regarding the safety of students and their professors, as well as possible legal protection.
The training was conducted within the framework of the project "Improving the Systems and Mechanisms for Prevention and Response in Cases of Threats to the Safety and Lives of Journalists in Serbia," supported by the European Union, with plans for workshops at other public and private faculties where journalism is studied.
