ANEM filed a criminal complaint against the City of Šabac for allocating 6.6 million to a media outlet that does not have an imprint.

Based on the Criminal Procedure Code, ANEM has filed a criminal complaint because, in the media competition in Šabac, the largest amount was awarded to a media outlet that did not have published basic information within its imprint at the time the competition was announced, nor at the time the decision on the allocation of funds was made. The legal prerequisite for a publisher to be able to apply for co-financing of content is to have an imprint with basic information about the media.

The complaint was filed against unknown individuals for failing to inform the competition participant Infomačva DOO Šabac that it had submitted an application with incomplete documentation or documentation that was not accurately filled out and for not inviting it to rectify the deficiencies within a subsequently specified deadline, nor did they dismiss the application by resolution, even though they knew it did not meet the conditions set forth in the Law on Public Information and Media and the Rulebook on Co-financing Projects for the Achievement of Public Interest in the Field of Public Information.

The complaint was also filed against the Mayor of Šabac, who, on July 16, 2026, issued a Decision on the allocation of funds from the budget of the City of Šabac for co-financing projects for the production of media content, by which the company Infomačva was awarded an amount of 6.6 million dinars for the project "Sports Treasury of Šabac," thereby providing Infomačva with an unlawful property benefit.

It is worth noting that Infomačva is a subsidiary of Best Media Team, which is owned by the publishers of the tabloids Alo and Informer. The company was established in January of this year and registered the portal macvatv.rs on April 3.

Šabac, incidentally, delayed the announcement of the media competition by more than two months – the legal deadline was until March 1, and the call for media was published only on May 8, one month after the portal macvatv.rs was registered.

This company recently began illegally broadcasting the program of TV Mačva in the cable system of Telekom, although that television station is not officially registered in the Media Registry nor has it received a broadcasting license, as the REM Council was not functional for 20 months.

In addition to this, three million dinars were awarded in Šabac to another subsidiary of Alo and Informer – Lotel plus from Loznica, which is also owned by Best Media Team.

The commission that evaluated the projects and proposed the allocation of funds in Šabac included Sandra Iršević from the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS), Sonja Kokotović, a representative of the Media Community of Serbia, and media expert Branislav Sančanin.
