Five local governments have not yet announced media tenders.

The deadline for announcing the competition, according to the law, was March 1.

As of today, five local governments that are obligated to do so have not yet done it, or at least have not published it in the Unified Information System (UIS) of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications. These are: Surdulica, which did not have a competition even for 2025, Vrbas, Gadžin Han, Šabac, and Lučani.

It should be noted that the media competitions for 2025 have not yet been completed by Gadžin Han, Preševo, and Vrbas, while Bujanovac canceled its competition and has not announced a new one to allocate the funds earmarked in the budget for that purpose.

Last year, the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications initiated 12 procedures against heads of public authorities who did not announce media competitions by March 1, 2025, for that calendar year. Additionally, 15 misdemeanor proceedings were initiated against public authorities for failing to publish the decision on fund distribution or for not doing so within the legally prescribed timeframe, i.e., no later than 90 days after the competition was closed.

Besides the 145 local governments that are legally obligated to distribute funds through media competitions, last year, the city municipalities of Niš—Medijana, Lazarevac, Obrenovac, and Kostolac—also announced competitions.

Kostolac announced a competition this year as well, while the remaining municipalities have not done so, at least for now. It should be noted that Lazarevac canceled its competition for project co-financing last year and did not announce a new one afterward.
