Meeting of the association members of the SRG for the safety of journalists with journalists and prosecutors from Belgrade.

Journalistic and media associations, members of the Permanent Working Group for the Safety of Journalists (SRG), will hold a meeting on June 13 in Belgrade to discuss with relevant institutions the recent cases threatening the safety of journalists and other media workers.

The event is organized by ANEM as part of the "System for the Prevention of Violence and Protection of Journalists" project, supported by the EU and the Balkan Democracy Fund, and the OSCE Mission in Serbia.

In addition to journalists who have been subjected to various forms of violence and interference in their work throughout the year, and whose cases have been recorded in the public prosecutor's database, the meeting will also be attended by prosecutors and police representatives who are directly working on these cases. Among others, the meeting will feature speeches from Branko Stamenković (Public Prosecutor at the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office), Boris Majlat (Chief Prosecutor for High-Tech Crime), and Veran Matić (SRG member and President of ANEM).

The meeting will begin at 12 PM at ANEM's premises located at Obilićev venac number 2, where reporters can attend for the first half hour.

The SRG consists of representatives from the UNS, NUNS, NDNV, ANEM, AM, AOM, VJT, and the Ministry of Interior (MUP), with the OSCE Mission in Serbia participating as an observer. Since 2023, the SRG has visited 19 cities and spoken with over 450 local journalists, prosecutors, and police officers.
