IFJ: The number of journalists killed in Gaza has risen to 244.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, including at least 244 journalists and media workers, representing a mortality rate of over ten percent – dramatically higher than in any other profession, according to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

IFJ: The number of journalists killed in Gaza has risen to 244.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) adds that Palestinian journalists and media workers are the only witnesses to the crimes due to Israel's ban on foreign media reporting.

For months, the IFJ has possessed evidence that the Israeli army deliberately targets journalists, and some of these cases are currently being reported to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Since the initial attack, the IFJ has called for the release of all hostages, the opening of Gaza to international journalists, and the respect of international law that obliges warring parties to protect journalists. The IFJ has also closely collaborated with its member organization, the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate, to support those reporting from Gaza.

With the support of donations from around the world, the IFJ's International Safety Fund has provided medical equipment, batteries, food, fuel, clothing, and tents for journalists in Gaza. Their needs are growing daily, and additional assistance is urgently required.

The list of names of all journalists killed in Gaza has been published by the IFJ on its website.

We remind that ANEM and the B92 Fund have joined the campaign and called on citizens and journalists in Serbia to participate in collecting aid for journalists in Gaza.

Testimonies from journalists can be read on the website and the YouTube page of ANEM as part of the series "Voices from Gaza."

All three interviews are free to download and share in the media with proper attribution, and they are available at the following links:
