SKC radio is coming back, and it needs your help.
Oslobođeni SKC has returned the cult radio station to the youth of Belgrade, which existed from 2003 to 2017. By the end of the blockade of SKC on July 22, students had produced over 25 shows as part of the radio program. Although they are in "exile," the students assert that the idea is not dead and that their struggle has not come to an end. SKC Radio is making a comeback.

SKC Radio was founded in 1998 and began operating in its well-known format in 2003, lasting until 2017. The students who took over SKC in February have revived this iconic radio station and produced over 25 programs in just six months.
The blockade of SKC was interrupted on July 22 by a police raid, which ended the broadcasting of SKC Radio.
Most of the equipment used by the students, whether personal, borrowed, or acquired through donations from citizens, remains at SKC. This includes the entire radio studio, several computers, a couple of cameras, and concert equipment.
Nevertheless, the students plan to revive SKC Radio again, and for that, they need the support of the citizens.
“Our idea is to continue the fight for freedom, cultural freedom, and a fairer society digitally and virtually until our demands are fulfilled, even if we are in 'exile.' The idea has not died just because we lack a physical space, and there is no period placed on our struggle,” the students of SKC state.
Support Us!
We believe it is crucial for critical journalism to remain free from commercial interests.
Their intention is to support gatherings and further student actions through a hybrid format by maintaining skc.fm radio, its programs and shows, as well as providing media coverage of events and reviving a previously prepared media portal.
How to Help?
As the students emphasize, when they were expelled from SKC, their safe was seized along with all remaining donations, and they now need money to restart the radio and to replenish the resources that have survived privately with them.
They also plan to archive all records of those who stayed at SKC (for which they need a large cloud storage). In addition, they require 1-2 camera lenses, as the others remain in SKC, as well as money for fuel that will be used for monitoring the field, transmission, reporting, and media presence.
The students are currently collecting donations for the missing equipment and to organize the studio.
A bank account has been provided for this purpose, which is typically used for humanitarian aid collection, to facilitate coordination since they do not have a physical space where citizens can visit them.
“We remind you that the liberated SKC is completely autonomous in its actions and is not influenced by any political factions or individuals. All citizens of good will are free to help as they see fit,” the students emphasize.
