The Prosecutor's Office dismissed the criminal complaint regarding the attack on the Insider journalist.

To recap, while reporting from Nikola Pašić Square, Insajder journalist Stefan Miljuš was attacked twice by an unknown man who attempted to take the phone he was using to record them. Describing the incident, Miljuš stated that he ran across Nikola Pašić Square to capture the moment when veterans were attacked.

"At that moment, I ran to see what was happening and recorded everything. At the moment I was sending the footage to the editorial office, I noticed that an unknown person was filming me and had pointed their phone in my direction. When I asked: 'Who are you, what are you, why are you filming me?', they started to back away and flee from me. I continued to follow them, asking whom they wanted to send the recording to and so on. Another guy joined in and said it would be better if I moved away from there. When I asked if that was a threat, he turned around and hit my phone, causing it to fall from my hand. I picked up the phone, and he came at me again. I moved away after that," Miljuš said.

When he remarked that "he is there to do his job," the other individual responded that he was doing it elsewhere and that he was not filming them, but rather himself.

The attack on the Insajder journalist occurred during a union gathering in downtown Belgrade on May 1 of this year. On that day, unions, along with students, were celebrating International Workers' Day, as well as marking six months since the tragic collapse of a canopy in Novi Sad.

Just before the attack, the Insajder journalist recorded an incident in which a group of individuals supporting the government entered into a verbal, and then physical, conflict with several members of veterans' associations who were passing through Nikola Pašić Square on their way to the RTS building.

Alongside the report to the prosecutor's office, Insajder also provided footage of the incident, which clearly shows the identity of the person who attacked Stefan Miljuš. The attack on him has been condemned by several journalistic associations.
