Žagubica is the first to announce a media competition for 2026, and they hope that candidates for the commissions will apply as well.

As stated in the announcement published on the Unified Information System (UIS), the total amount of funds for co-financing media content in the next year is eight million dinars.

The minimum amount that can be allocated per project is 20,000 dinars, while the maximum is 6,400,000 dinars.

Aside from the short application deadline, considering the overlap with the New Year and Christmas holidays, it is questionable how candidates for the project evaluation committee will apply since the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has not yet published the preliminary scoring list of candidates eligible to participate in committees in 2026.

In the Municipality of Žagubica, they responded to the inquiry from the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) that, according to Article 20 of the Rules on Co-financing Projects for Achieving Public Interest in the Field of Public Information, the register of candidates for committee members, maintained in the Unified Information System, will be updated by December 31 of the current year for the participation of candidates for committee members in next year's calls.

"Considering the above, as well as the fact that the Municipality of Žagubica's call is open until January 12, 2026, for project submissions and for members of the selection committee, we believe that there is time for interested parties to apply," the Municipality stated in their response to ANEM.

The project of the Association of Independent Electronic Media "Participatory Monitoring of the Implementation of the Co-Financing Process for Projects" is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the MATRA program. ANEM is solely responsible for the content, which does not necessarily reflect the official views of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
