ANEM ALARM: Civilians interrupted the CINS team while they were distributing flyers in front of the EXPO headquarters.

CINS has announced that their team was subjected to pressure while distributing printed copies of parts of their research on companies engaged in projects related to a specialized exhibition.

As seen in the footage they published, during the recording, three men in plain clothes, without identification, approached their team, did not introduce themselves, and demanded that the journalists move away, arguing that what they were doing was "not correct or friendly."

One of them recorded and photographed the team of journalists, while another requested that CINS delete their recording since he had not given permission to be filmed.

“We believe this constitutes serious pressure on CINS's work, and we call on the authorities to respond so that we can continue our investigations and perform our duties without further incidents,” CINS stated.

ANEM reminds us that this concerns the promotion of a journalistic story of significant public interest, and it is evident that the three men came on someone’s orders to intimidate journalists working in investigative journalism in Serbia.

We appeal to all journalists and media representatives to regularly report any form of security threats encountered while performing their work. A free phone number and direct line to ANEM, 0800 100 115, is available to all journalists, where media representatives can receive information about the legal treatment of such incidents and the procedures that should be initiated to report security threats to the relevant institutions, police, and prosecutor's office.
