ANEM ALARM: A new threat to journalist Vuk Cvijić of the weekly magazine Radar

Caller: Be careful about what you are going to publish tomorrow.

Vuk Cvijić: What is this about?

Caller: I’m telling you to be careful about what you’re going to publish tomorrow. It’s not important, you will meet me if you publish it.

Vuk: What should I publish? Everything is already printed and ready to be released tomorrow.

Caller: Then you will meet me.

After this threat, the phone call was terminated.

This alarming threat was immediately reported to the competent prosecutor's office marked as URGENT.

Vuk Cvijić has been physically attacked several times in public places over the past year, by tabloid owners as well as by members of intervention units. None of these cases have received a judicial resolution.

The impunity for attacks on Vuk Cvijić clearly signals that this most productive professional, who engages in investigative journalism, particularly on corruption at the highest levels of government and important institutions, can be freely targeted.

We call on the relevant institutions to protect Vuk Cvijić and the editorial team of Radar, to conduct a swift and effective investigation, and to prevent the assailants from endangering the life of this journalist, allowing him to continue his work without such disruptions.
