The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) strongly condemns the endangerment of the safety of student and activist P.C. by Siniša Vučinić on TV Informer, who made a disturbing announcement about a potential murder. Although Vučinić later apologized and stated that he mentioned it only hypothetically, this does not justify the publicly spoken word and intimidation, and it is unacceptable to mention names and target individuals in such a context.

“The announcement of murders, in addition to disturbing those whose names are mentioned, their families, and surroundings, also represents a frightening targeting with potentially drastic consequences. Therefore, it is essential for the prosecution and police to question Vučić and to initiate legal proceedings against him for spreading disinformation and endangering the safety of P.C. It is also necessary for the police to conduct a security assessment of P.C. as it is certainly not a coincidence that he was specifically chosen as a target,” stated Veran Matić, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Independent Electronic Media.
We remind that Vučić has already spread false news without consequences, accompanied by mandatory hate speech and discreditation.
Exactly 19 years ago, Vučić claimed in the tabloid Kurir that the murder of three activists from the non-governmental sector, Nataša Kandić, Sonja Biserko, and Biljana Kovačević Vučo, was being prepared. Siniša Vučić's claims, known as a person who used weapons to prevent the arrest of Slobodan Milošević and who appeared armed at B92 dissatisfied with the political views of some guests, received a full page in Kurir at that time.
That same evening, gunshots were heard outside the B92 building after the show Utisak nedelje featuring Nataša Kandić, which the police later claimed were firecrackers.
Additionally, in 2009, Siniša Vučić was arrested for threatening to kill journalist Miloš Vasić of “Vreme” and the president of the Social Democratic Union, Žarko Korać. That year, the editorial offices of “Glas srpski” from Banja Luka and “Vreme” received telegrams with “expressions of sympathy” regarding the “death of your journalist Miloš Vasić,” and Vučić signed a letter stating that he would make an effort to “contribute with his capacity so that both Vasić and Korać soon keep company with their favorite Zoran Đinđić.”
ANEM also appeals to the media not to invite guests who are already known for spreading hate speech and publicly targeting individuals, and in cases of live programs, not to allow the dissemination of disinformation and speech that could endanger anyone’s safety, warning guests and thus distancing themselves from scandalous statements.
