ANEM Solidarity: We call on ANEM members and all media to support IN Media from Inđija.
When a birthday coincides with a situation where existence is threatened, as is the case with IN Media from Inđija, a formal greeting becomes a recognition of professionalism and perseverance in journalistic work for the benefit of the public interest of citizens.

Solidarity distinguishes us from those who daily violate journalistic and human principles. Therefore, we call upon the media, journalists' associations, and media organizations to actively support the editorial team of IN Medija, which is facing lawsuits aimed at removing it from the media landscape.
There are fewer and fewer journalists and media outlets in Serbia, and we must fight for each one as if we are fighting for ourselves. Because we can best protect ourselves through solidarity with other at-risk journalists and media.
“As a citizen media outlet, IN Medija has committed to resisting influences from advertisers and authorities at every level, and it does not back down from professional work despite numerous physical attacks, digital assaults, smear campaigns, targeting, and horrifyingly offensive messages. They believe that dedication to the welfare of the community and citizens can also serve as a model for survival. For this reason, this editorial team has implemented a series of innovative actions that establish stability in times of the most severe repression. Therefore, I invite the members of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), as well as all other media outlets, to join us in a solidarity action to gather support for the editorial team of IN Medija,” said Veran Matić, President of the ANEM Board of Directors.
On the occasion of IN Medija's anniversary, the editorial team will organize an online promotion of Marko Vidojković's new book, “Forty-First,” on April 6 at 6 PM at Freedom Square in Inđija, in front of the city library. This promotion is organized as part of the celebration of IN Medija's anniversary, as well as a fundraising effort to defend against SLAPP lawsuits that the editorial team has faced throughout 2024.
It is worth noting that when IN Medija was confronted with its first ruling, it was the citizens who demonstrated what solidarity means. At a humanitarian concert at Freedom Square, more than 140,000 dinars and 130 euros were raised in just two hours – directly from people who believe that a free media must survive.
IN Medija has launched a crowdfunding campaign and introduced a simple donation system via QR codes to ensure continuity of operations without influence on editorial policy, with the support of citizens.
IN Medija, a local media outlet with a regional reach, based in Inđija, has been covering topics relevant to the entire Srem region, Vojvodina, and Serbia for years – ranging from communal issues and infrastructure to political processes and civic initiatives that often remain out of focus for larger editorial teams.
