The CIK has made a new decision: 28 media outlets have been accredited to monitor local elections in Kosovo.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) held its 66th session today in 2025, during which it was decided to accredit a total of 28 local and international media organizations to monitor the upcoming local elections for mayors and municipal assemblies.

As announced, the decision was made following recommendations from the Office for Registration, Confirmation, and Financial Control of Political Entities, which came after an assessment of documentation and information obtained from sources such as the Independent Media Council and the Written Media Council in Kosovo.
Among the accredited media are – RTV Puls, Radio Kontakt Plus, TV Most, TV Gračanica, Radio Kim, Radio KM, GračanicaOnline, Alternativna, TV Herc, Media Center Čaglavica – as well as media houses such as Radio Television of Serbia, the Tanjug agency, Prva TV, Nova.rs, Kurir Television, Danas, RTV Vojvodina, Video Plus, Nina Media Clipping, and Insajder. The Hungarian state television MTVA is also included. Among the accredited media, the Kosovo Online portal is absent.
The CEC stated that all accredited media will have the right to monitor activities related to the electoral process, including the opening of polling stations, voting, and vote counting, in accordance with electoral rules and regulations.
It should be noted that the Central Election Commission announced yesterday, after a meeting, which media were approved and which were not for monitoring the local elections. Among those that were rejected were media outlets reporting in Serbian.
This was followed by strong reactions from several journalistic associations, including ANEM, the OSCE mission, the German embassy, civil society, and the decision was also criticized by some Serbian political parties.
