Cvijić on the threats he has received: They come from criminal circles that have the support of this government.

Vuk Cvijić, a journalist for the weekly magazine Radar, received a call yesterday afternoon from an unknown number abroad, which included a threatening warning regarding an article published today in that magazine. Cvijić told N1 that the threat directed at him comes from criminal circles that have the support of this government.

Cvijić on the threats he has received: They come from criminal circles that have the support of this government.

The Radar journalist states that he does not know whether the "tomorrow" in the threat he received refers to the article published today or to the future.

"The man who called me and threatened me was not precise. I do not know if it refers, for example, to today’s event, which is a case I have been following, the trial of Milan Radojičić, a security guard who caused a traffic accident in which the parents of a Belgrade police officer were killed. Unfortunately, it could be anything, but what I am sure of is that the threat comes from criminal circles that have the support of this government and feel safe enough to do something like this," said Cvijić.

He mentions that this is the first time someone has directly called him on both of his phones, which he finds interesting.

"It is possible that this is part of a campaign launched against all independent media; they feel free to act this way, and we see that insults and threats are practically encouraged by Aleksandar Vučić himself. If he allows this, why wouldn’t those from criminal circles who rely on this government make such calls?" Cvijić emphasizes, noting that threats have also been directed at his colleagues from the Radar newsroom and reminding that a few days ago, caricaturist Dušan Petričić was also threatened.

Cvijić also states that he does not feel protected by the institutions but that he will continue with his journalistic work.

"I think someone is making a mistake with these threats, and in a way, they motivate me to work even harder. I will continue from where I left off, and we will also continue with what we started in the last issue regarding the Progressive Party’s Vista Rica fund and will publish more information about who financed it. They will not stop us," Cvijić declared.
