Mileva Malešić and Đorđe Vlajić are candidates from journalism associations for members of the REM Council.
Mileva Malešić and Đorđe Vlajić have been selected as candidates for members of the REM Council during today’s coordination meeting of the authorized proposers - the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS), the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS), and the Professional Association of Journalists of Serbia (PROUNS).

The Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will elect one of these two candidates as a member of the REM Council through voting.
Mileva Malešić and Đorđe Vlajić were elected by a majority vote at the meeting of authorized proposers attended by the president of UNS, Živojin Rakočević, the president of NUNS, Željko Bodrožić, and the president of PROUNS, Slađana Ostojić.
At the meeting, two out of three candidates were elected. Malešić and Vlajić were proposed by UNS and NUNS, while Maja Mišković Marković was proposed by PROUNS.
One member from each of the remaining eight groups of candidates will also be elected to the REM Council.
It is worth noting that the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media has not existed for more than 11 months, since November 4, 2024, when, in accordance with the Law on Electronic Media, the mandate of the previous composition of the Council expired.
Who are Mileva Malešić and Đorđe Vlajić?
Mileva Malešić was for a long time the chief and responsible editor and director of Televizija Forum and the Forum info portal, a media outlet of the civil sector within the Forum of Women Association in Prijepolje. She graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.
From 1979 to 2008, Malešić was also an editor at the local weekly "Polimlje" and Radio Polimlje. Throughout her decades-long career, Malešić has been a correspondent for the news agencies Beta and Tanjug, and for daily newspapers "Politika," "Glas javnosti," and "Blic," and she also worked at Radio Belgrade.
She served five terms as a member of the Board of Directors of Lokal Press and was the president of the Board of Directors of this organization from 2014 to 2016.
Today, she is a member of the Executive Board of the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia, as well as a member of the group Journalists Against Violence.
Đorđe Vlajić graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences. Vlajić has been a journalist and editor for 47 years, primarily in public services – RTS and BBC. His professional work has been marked by organizing the production of television and radio programs, as well as working on the preparation of internal acts of the public service, media laws, and the Journalists' Code of Serbia.
Vlajić has also served as the editor of the TV news service at the news agency Fonet, a correspondent for BBC World Service from Belgrade, and as the chief editor of the First Program at Radio Belgrade.
Previously, he was the editor and host of major news programs ("Dnevnik," "Novosti dana") and specialized news programs ("Argument više," "Nedeljom u 10").
