The ANEM network has been expanded to include nine more members.
The Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) made a decision at its last meeting to accept nine new members, specifically media outlets.

These are Luftika (Novi Sad), Žig Info (Grocka), Radio Goraždevac, Bujanovačke, Ist Media (Bor), Pančevo Si Ti, Sto plus radio (Novi Pazar), Televizija Forum (Prijepolje), and Slobodna reč (Vranje).
Members of the ANEM Board of Directors assessed that the aforementioned media outlets adhere to professional standards, contribute to public interest information, promote media pluralism, recognize the authority of the Press Council, and will undoubtedly enhance the quality of the organization’s functioning.
The President of the ANEM Board of Directors, Veran Matić, emphasized that local media serve as a strong bulwark against the arbitrariness of local power holders and are often alone in this struggle, exposed to various forms of pressure and attacks.
“Local media play an exceptionally significant role in society. Although few in number and with limited capacities, their professionalism, dedication, and tirelessness have compensated for all shortcomings. They have professionally covered events of crucial importance, both for local communities and for the national context, enabling citizens to stay informed about the most important developments in the country. In doing so, they have contributed to restoring the reputation of journalism as the 'watchdog of the public interest,'” highlighted Matić.
During the board meeting, the next steps for expanding ANEM's capacity through media networking, solidarity, and various forms of support were discussed, all through new joint activities and initiatives.
The Board has invited all media that respect professional and ethical standards to join ANEM in a collective fight for a better media environment in Serbia, for an accountable state based on the rule of law.
For reference, ANEM was established in 1993 by several stations - Radio B92 and NTV Studio B from Belgrade, Radio Boom 93 from Požarevac, Radio Antena M from Podgorica, Radio Bajina Bašta from Bajina Bašta, Radio Smederevo from Smederevo, and Radio Cetinje from Cetinje. The goal was to unite isolated media, marking the first step towards dismantling the media monopoly that was under state control.
Currently, ANEM consists of a total of 41 media publishers across Serbia.
