The REM authority has identified dozens of violations at TV Informer, but there is no one to impose penalties.
The Monitoring and Analysis Department of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) has been regularly publishing reports based on submitted complaints against electronic media in Serbia over the past year, even in the absence of the REM Council, as well as monthly reports on violations of the Advertising Law.

The REM website has published 17 applications for electronic media programs from 2024 and 69 from 2025. The professional service of this body has published reports, or its opinions regarding the applications, for most cases, and in more than half of the instances, it was assessed that the media against which complaints were filed violated the laws and regulations governing their operations.
Since November of last year until today, the most complaints have been received against the Informer television station, about which the REM service concluded in 20 cases that this broadcaster violated the Law on Electronic Media, the Regulation on the Protection of Human Rights in the Provision of Media Services, and the Regulation on the Protection of Minors in the Provision of Media Services.
Among the disputed cases at TV Informer for which it was proposed to initiate investigative procedures are the commentary on the case of student Nikolina Sinđelić, a scene of a man masturbating while the show's editor explains the scene, insults based on nationality and religion, calls for violence, threats, and other content that undermines the dignity and privacy of individuals.
Based on the received complaints, REM also assessed that other television stations with national frequencies, in some cases, violated legal regulations - Hepi, Pink, Prva, and B92, as well as the public service RTS, Radio Gong, and Sremska TV.
For Pink, Hepi, B92, Prva, and Informer, it was concluded that they have repeatedly violated the Law on Advertising due to unauthorized political advertising, and Hepi, B92, and Pink for their reporting on the case of the mass murder at "Vladislav Ribnikar" school, which was assessed as "sensationalist and as an infringement of the privacy and dignity of individuals affected by the tragic event."
The Law on Marking Days of Mourning was violated by Hepi and Radio Gong.
On the other hand, by observing monthly reports on irregularities related to the Law on Advertising published on the REM website, it can be noticed that the public service and television stations with national frequencies regularly record non-compliance with this law.
It should be noted that this regulatory body has not had elected members of the REM Council since November of last year, whose election has been marked by a large number of irregularities, disputes, and controversies. Consequently, there is no one to adopt the Service's reports for supervision and analysis at REM or make decisions to initiate certain measures against broadcasters due to all these irregularities and violations of the law.
