ANEM organized a three-day training for journalist safety at the RTV newsroom.
A three-day training for journalist safety was held at the Radio-Television of Vojvodina (RTV) newsroom in Novi Sad, organized by the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM).

Considering the events in the country over the past few months and the increased number of pressures and attacks on journalists and media, experienced lecturer and journalist Branko Čečen exchanged security experiences with employees of this media outlet.
"The hospitality at Radio-Television Vojvodina is truly exceptional, and the working conditions are outstanding. The colleagues who chose to participate in the training demonstrated a passion for the profession and concern for the safety of everyone they work with. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with them, thankful to the participants for their engaged involvement and curiosity, and especially to the editors from the second program who shared their extensive experience with us," said Čečen after the training.
The training covered several thematic areas, including journalists' mental health, digital, social, and legal security, as well as physical security regarding reporting from protests.
In discussions with journalists, editors, and management, the topic of physical security included what can be done, risk analysis, communication protocols, emergency situations, whether events can be anticipated, and how newsrooms can better organize themselves.
The goal of the training is to raise awareness of security within newsrooms that report from the field and establish protocols for the protection of journalists and media workers.
So far, similar training sessions have been held at the Beta agency and the newspaper Danas, and ANEM will conduct them in other newsrooms facing increased security risks in the near future.
The training was organized as part of the "Violence Prevention and Journalist Protection System" project, implemented by ANEM in partnership with Insajder TV and the Center for the Development of Local Media, with the support of the European Union.
