ANEM invites the municipality of Žagubica to extend the deadline for applications for the commission.
The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) calls on the relevant authorities in the municipality of Žagubica to extend the deadline for the application of candidates for members of the commission for evaluating media projects for the year 2026, considering that the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has not yet published even the preliminary scoring list of candidates eligible to apply for the commissions.

As a reminder, Žagubica is the first and currently the only municipality that has announced a competition for project co-financing of media content for the year 2026, as early as late December. The initial deadline for project submissions, as well as for candidates for the commission, was January 12, but it was later extended to Monday, January 19.
The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications was obliged, according to the Rulebook on Co-financing Projects for Achieving Public Interest in the Field of Public Information, to update the list of candidates by December 31, which has not yet been done.
The relevant ministry must first publish a preliminary list of candidates, and thereafter provide a certain period for any appeals before publishing the final list, at which point eligible candidates can begin to apply for the competitions. Considering that the deadline in Žagubica is until January 19, which is less than seven days away, it is evident that it will not be possible to publish the final list on the MIT website and the Unified Information System (JIS) by then.
According to unofficial information obtained by ANEM, the Ministry has already sent a notification to all administrative bodies that announce media competitions to refrain from doing so until the candidate scoring for the commissions is completed, and to those who have already announced competitions to extend the deadlines.
