Media from southern Serbia among the record holders in project co-funding competitions.

Competitions for co-financing projects in the field of public information in southern Serbia in certain local government units have not been announced despite the legal deadline, while the largest sums of money from those that have been announced and completed are mainly awarded to larger city and regional media, according to data from a new report by the Media Association.

In a sample of 28 local self-governments (Aleksinac, Babušnica, Bela Palanka, Blace, Bojnik, Bosilegrad, Brus, Bujanovac, Crna Trava, Dimitrovgrad, Doljevac, Gadžin Han, Kuršumlija, Lebane, Leskovac, Medveđa, Merošina, Niš, Pirot, Preševo, Prokuplje, Surdulica, Svrljig, Trgovište, Vladičin Han, Vlasotince, Vranje, Žitorađa), it is observed that most of the funds from the competition have been allocated to larger cities and their main radio and television stations.

In two local self-governments - Surdulica and Gadžin Han - the competitions have not yet been published.

Local self-governments such as Trgovište, Blace, and Vladičin Han did not publish decisions on the allocation by the end of the observation period.

The biggest beneficiaries of the funds are media companies registered in Niš, Vranje, and Leskovac.

In Niš, notable television stations include Zona plus with a total of 41,430,000 dinars received, as well as TV Kopernikus with 31,300,000 dinars and INI media with 27,500,000 dinars.

Also highlighting in the amount of allocated financial resources is Televizija Leskovac, which received a total of 20,130,000 dinars from the competitions.

Among the media houses in Vranje, Radio Television Vranje stands out with 21,280,000 dinars and Vranjska plus with 21,230,000 dinars.
