In Novi Sad last night, several journalists were once again attacked. The president of the Management Board of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), Veran Matić, told Mašina that all these attacks are obviously part of state policy, or rather an order to take action against journalists, as journalists are “the ones who present to the public everything that is happening.”

"From this perspective, it is completely clear that we will not have a new composition of the REM Council in the foreseeable future," stated Saša Mirković, a representative of ANEM and a previous candidate for a member of the REM Council in the first process, to Mašina.

The Higher Court in Šabac yesterday acquitted Milan Filipović, who had originally been convicted for posting wanted notices featuring the images of three individuals, including journalist Isidora Kovačević. She emphasized to Nova that today, four years later, an official document allows anyone to harass another person and mark them with a target on their forehead without facing any consequences.

The Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS) has published a document titled "Official Note and Decision on Dismissal: The Boundary Between Legality and Abuse," in which NUNS lawyers Marija Babić and Rade Đurić analyzed the actions of prosecutors in cases where it is decided not to initiate criminal proceedings ex officio.

All high officials must refrain from verbal attacks and threats against journalists, the European Commission told N1 in response to statements made by the Minister of Information, Boris Bratina, that N1, Nova, and Radio Free Europe "should not exist in the airwaves within the territory of the state."

The City of Niš has announced a second competition for project co-financing of media content for the year 2025, and the deadline for project applications is November 22.
