Journalistic and media associations are requesting the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications to immediately publish the biographies of all candidates for members of the commissions for media competitions listed on the published preliminary list, in order to make the process of project co-financing for media content and the distribution of the budget amounting to over 15 million euros in 2026 more transparent.

The preliminary list of candidates for the project evaluation committees for media competitions in 2026, published by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, includes 112 candidates, which is 47 fewer than last year.

The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications announced today, January 21, 2026, the preliminary list of candidates for members of the selection committees for co-financing projects in the field of public information.

On January 16, a new local media outlet, the Božur portal, was registered in the Media Register of the Business Registers Agency (APR), based in Gračanica, Kosovo. This is yet another media outlet owned by retired officer Slavko Stijaković, who owns a network of local media in Serbia.

The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) calls on the relevant authorities in the municipality of Žagubica to extend the deadline for the application of candidates for members of the commission for evaluating media projects for the year 2026, considering that the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has not yet published even the preliminary scoring list of candidates eligible to apply for the commissions.

The Municipality of Žagubica, which was the first to announce a competition for project co-financing of media content for the year 2026, has extended the deadline for project submissions and for committee members to January 19, instead of the originally scheduled January 12.

The City of Čačak has published a resolution regarding the allocation of funds based on the completed second competition for the co-financing of media content, specifically the competition for the distribution of nearly six million dinars that remained unallocated in the first round.

The municipality of Bujanovac has decided to annul the competition for co-financing media content, as stated in the decision dated December 26, due to the fact that no applications for co-financing media content were received, nor were there any applications for members of the project evaluation committee.
